2005-10-12 - 4:09 p.m. Mophead's First Ever Knitting Project I am dead fucking proud of this. It is the first thing I've (possibly) ever knit -- certainly the first thing I've knit since I was seven and my grandmother was holding my hands, directing the needles. Unfortunately, I don't know that this would be something grandma would find practical or useful by any stretch of the imagination, but I think my iPod cozy is ridiculously cute. And I did it all by myself!!! See? SO CUTE!
It's still missing the obligatory Knatty Coordinating Vanity Button as well as the velcro to keep the flap folded, but all the knitting bits are done and I am so damn proud of myself! (and the obligatory picture with my new Vanna...)
I'm gonna start on a sweater later today, or maybe tomorrow, depending on whether I swing a nap before class this evening. And In Other Dorky News Because I've become a veritable Holly HobbyHorse style dork... The first cello lesson was yesterday morning. This is how my Tuesdays now look: --A nice half hour walk in the sunshine (hooray! It's always sunny here!) followed by an hour lesson. I can bow Twinkle Twinkle like a mofo. --Home for Puppy Time and a walk and lunch. --Rolfing out in Clovis. --Home for a (very!) quick dinner. --Knitting class, usually followed (and/or preceded) by a phone call from this really hot guy I know back home. I'm refusing to do ANY homework on Tuesdays -- it's my mad hobby day and it's awesome. If I can swing it, I'm going to try to have no classes on Fridays next term (so I can extend the weekends in SF), but for now, the mid-week day off is working beautifully. Puppy News He wakes me up at 5:45 every morning to go outside to pee, and I don't think he's old enough to make him wait (his poor little bladder!), so I've been suffering mild but acute sleep deprivation even though he's (finally) over his kennel cough. No matter. At least he doesn't need garlic in his dog food anymore -- the back entrance always stunk of garlic. He knows Sit, ShakeAPaw, Come, Up, and Off (because he's not allowed on any of the furniture and sometimes this is confusing, when the cat jumps up on ALL the furniture). He's having some "issues" with Down, but I think he's just stubborn, and I can be more stubborn, so no worries. Most importantly, he and Luka have almost figured out the Chase Game (it's really Luka who's been having trouble with it, since she's been a bit pissed off about the New Roommate thing this whole time). She still plays the Pissy Princess and pretends to be afraid every once in a while, but we all know that really she's just acting, cuz when neither Lisa nor I are looking straight at her, we catch the two of them playing together ALL the TIME! It rocks. --mopheaded is using a size 7 circular next time
