Wow.

It's been a while.

Point-form update followed by exciting news.

Been doing some Walk-In counselling for the past 6 months. It's good -- the single-session model is challenging and I don't necessarily agree that only "motivated" clients will be helped by 6 sessions (because, to my mind, the fact that someone shows up at all shows they are motivated to change... even if not immediately), but it is a handy tool for those clients who will only show up once. Good to know how to build rapport quickly and how to effect change in a short amount of time.

Bought a red Honda Fit. I am in love with this car, and unfortunately I spend WAY more time inside of it than I would like, so it's a good thing I like it!

Been working with at-risk kids in group homes. The commute to work is nearly an hour either way (thus the car) but I love it. It's fun, it's scary, it's challenging and enriching and wonderful. It could pay more, but for now it's alright. I'm thinking of adding waitressing back to the roster, just so I don't have to be so overworked in the "emotionally-taxing" department.

Living with beautiful roommates in a little house that we are soon to move out of into a bigger house with more roommates and a mortgage instead of a lease. I am scared to death of this totally adult decision and yet also feeling totally capable of managing it.

(Oh, the buying-of-the-house is the exciting news you were waiting for.)

So I'm not really feeling into any sort of affective soul-writing at the moment -- I certainly have a whole whack of feelings running around inside of me, but the lack of Alone-Time has me so flustered that I haven't really had a chance to put all my ducks in a row. Soon, my pretties, soon.
